Life On Repeat

It’s 5 in the morning, the clock’s going tick tock

And there in my bed I peacefully lay

Then I hear the noise in the kitchen

And now I’m here letting my toothbrush sway

If you’re a kid in school or college

Get ready, cause your bus is on its way

If an adult, please rush to work

Your boss is pissed and he’s not gonna pay

Pack all your stuff, your phone, your books

Reach on time, come what may

And also reach home before 5 or 6

Or if asked an excuse, prepare what to know what to say

Now you know it’s ‘me’ time

So you sit with popcorn and snacks on a tray

If a kid, make your peace with cartoons,

Chhota Bheem and Anime

If an adult, I can’t really say

Choose between DDLJ and Sholay?

Oh no! The break is over and reality hits you hard

You sit with your home work and cries of dismay

It’s 9 at night, you’re stressed and still there

So fill your tummy with some drinks and hay

You still have hopes that the dreams at night

Will all be refreshing, cheerful and gay

You hardly realise you’ve not smiled or laughed

Or spread love in any way

How does it feel my fellow human being,

To live the same life everyday?

It’s weird, isn’t it?

Think about it.
