I am eight.
I love to play.
I don’t know my aims.
I don’t know my future.
I just live in the present.
And make the most out of it.
But then, one day,
And five days after,
Were the days of horror.
That day I lost faith in humanity.
The day I lost faith in religion.
The day I was kidnapped.
I was locked in a temple.
The day I was raped.
Not by one, not by two,
But by a gang.
Not once, not twice,
But many times.
The day I realized,
That women are not objects.
Objects are treated better.
The day I was killed
By ‘human beings’.
I have lost my voice,
Since the brutal crime.
If you still have one,
Raise it, make it audible.
Remember always,
You are lucky.
You are getting a chance
To bring back humanity.
It is very easy to say,
What’s wrong with ‘people’?
YOU are the ‘people’.
If you have a problem with them,
You have to make the right ‘people’.
I trust you.
And I still have hope.
I am Asifa.
I need your help.
Put yourself in her shoe. Probably that’ll help you to understand. I think social media is the best way to spread the message. There are rape cases reported each and everyday. Many of them go unnoticed. Just think of the ones which aren’t reported at all. People have fear in them. People are afraid to speak up. We have to replace this fear with the fear of committing the crime. Rape is not justified. It is not justified by conflict, religion or anything else. Rape is rape. Rape is force. Rape is irrecoverable. Rape is brutal. Rape is unacceptable.
Don’t hang the criminals. It is a sweet punishment of death. Catch them, beat them brutally, tie them to a pole and kick them where they need to be kicked. Beat them until they start bleeding. Let them get a taste of their own poisonous medicine. Then hang them. This is how I think they should be punished. What are your views? Let me know in the comments below.
And I also request all of you to use the best of social media platforms to spread awareness among the youth. Highlight the issue. Keep it in Bold. Justice for Asifa. Justice for every victim. Share this message with everyone you can. Change the society. Stop the crime. Make it happen.
Thank you for your time:)
Heartbreaking! … Those are not humans who commit such crimes, they are monsters! & monsters have no right to live amongst us!

Very true. It’s a very disgusting act. No mercy should be shown to these criminals. And it must have been very hard for her family to cope with the loss of a daughter in the family. But there’s still a pinch of hope that things can change. Thank you for sharing your thoughts❤️

I have actually seen a lot of Instagram stories with #JusticeForAsifa. Googling about this incident didn’t help my rising temper. I even saw an online news article by some minister saying that let the rapists be…one or two rape cases are nothing. 😡😡😡

These ‘one’ or ‘two’ lead to thousands of rape cases. I do not like to blame the government for everything but I think it is very painful that the country’s leaders are saying such things so shamelessly… I think it’s time that we make this a big issue so that the ministers fear the agitation of the people and do something about it. Thank you for sharing your views❤️

very powerful and true. It’s strange how mad the world can be. I know people that have accepted this as a fact of life and nothing to be done about it. They’ve given up. I agree with your points on street justice. I’ve always believed in street justice. If i ever get my hands on one they might not leave my grip alive.

जिन्स पहनने से रेप हुआ
अब हिजाब वालों को भी नहीं छोड़ा
रात को बाहर जाने से रेप हुआ
अब तो घर के अंदर वालों को भी नहीं छोड़ा

This brought tears to my eyes. It is heartbreaking.. the case.. the aftermath.. everything. The way you have potrayed the fear and disgust that this incident has brought along is great. Your writing reaches out to people.
Even i wrote a poem recently after i found out about asifa. It was shocking news and our nation has a long way to go when it comes to women safety. Please read my poetry once where i have tried to put forward my thoughts and anger towards the corrupt system and the lies we hear.

I’m that I’m able to reach people….. The very reason I wrote it in that way is because I wanted to get a feel of what the eight year old girl felt on that day…. It’s just unforgivable!!

I just don’t understand what drives these people to do such horrible things. How can you look at such an innocent face and do something like that? People constantly tell girls to ‘be careful’ and I don’t think being careful is going to make any difference if there are people, sorry , monsters like these around.

Yeah!! That question had always disturbed me…. How? What level of brutality should a person have to commit a crime like rape?

I understand that we are the people but no one ever asks the question you mentioned unless they * are* the’right people’.It is the other part of ‘people’ who are being talked about, the misogynistic, ruthless perverse ‘people’ who don’t give a shit about the ‘victim’.
